Chris-Myers-(r)-with-Andy-RichmanAfter scooping a Gold Medal at last year’s BBC Gardeners’ World Live, plus thousands of new fans – including gardening presenter Toby Buckland, who was seen trying one of the sweets at the event – Swiss confectioner Ricola is set to create its second show garden when the 2010 Show opens in June.

Andy Richman, Ricola Country Manager for UK & Ireland, comments: “Last year’s event worked brilliantly for us. Not only did the garden design showcase the thirteen Swiss herbs that give Ricola’s sweets their unique taste, but it also proved the perfect sampling arena to reach our target audience.  We’re confident of a similar reception this year and look forward to growing our customer base, as much as the herbs that will once again form the centre of the garden.”

Teaming up for the second year with Yorkshire-based garden designer Chris Myers, this year’s garden ‘The Ricola Herb Garden of Natural Refreshment’ is inspired by the uplifting scenery of the Swiss Alps and again brought to life with the thirteen herbs that make up the recipe for Ricola’s Swiss Herb Drops, such as Peppermint, Sage and Horehound. The tranquil atmosphere of the garden – which includes a relaxing water feature and a wooded area – is also intended to reflect the soothing nature of the brand’s refreshing sweets.

To help stimulate sales and further raise brand awareness, sampling, backed by a money-off coupon, will take place at the garden.
Ricola Swiss Herb Drops are available in five delicious flavours – Original Swiss Herb, Cranberry, Elderflower, Menthol and Lemon Mint, and retail at £1.25 for a convenient click-shut box or bag, while sticks are available at 50p.
