Family-owned chocolate producer Ritter Sport is celebrating another record-breaking year for UK sales; 2020 was the sixth consecutive year of growth for Ritter Sport since it launched its affiliate in the UK.
The square chocolate brand outperformed the total block chocolate market with growth of +37%* YOY, that’s a remarkable +50% ahead of the category. An outstanding 79% of Ritter Sport’s growth was incremental to the total chocolate category^. In fact, Ritter Sport’s sales outperformed the category in all channels. In Impulse its sales were ahead of the market by 2% points*.
In addition to reporting record sales Ritter Sport also reported record levels of penetration growth at +59% vs 2019, significant growth in frequency (+6%) and spend per buyer (+14%)**.
