Congratulations to Kasper, aged 9, who won SPAR’s ‘Design a Sandwich’ competition with his delicious ‘Sweety Sandwich’.

The competition was launch by James Hall & Co. Ltd., the SPAR distributor for the North of England, and twelve Primary Schools in the Preston area were invited to take part.

Jake Ellwood from James Hall & Co. Ltd. commented “From the hundreds of entries received, Kasper’s sandwich design really stood out. His Sweety Sandwich contained the somewhat unusual combination of Blueberry Jam, Chocolate Spread, Honey and pieces of Strawberry, but it was this innovative idea as well as his drawing of the sandwich that claimed him first prize in the competition.”

The winning prize included Kasper’s Sweety Sandwich being made at James Hall’s sandwich factory for all his classmates to try. He also won £250 of sports equipment for his school, Holme Slack Primary, and 50 tickets for his class to attend a Preston North End home game, at which Kasper will lead the players out of the tunnel carrying the match ball.

Deepdale Duck was on hand to present Kasper with his prizes during school assembly and caused quite a stir with his antics. Second prize in the competition was won by Charlie, aged 7, from Greenlands Community Primary and the third prize winner was Cerys, aged 7, from Roebuck Primary School.

James Hall & Co. Ltd. would like to thank all the schools who took part in the competition and hope the pupils from the winning schools enjoy the football match at Preston North End – fingers crossed for a win!
