Tangerine Confectionery is expanding its Easter offering with the introduction of ‘Lovely Mini Eggs’.
The new solid milk chocolate eggs with a crisp sugar shell will be sold under the company’s Barratt brand, one of the market leaders in children’s confectionery.
Available in cases of 28 bags, the eggs have an RRP of 39p and are made using only natural colours and flavours. The appealing new pack features a cartoon of a small boy and girl and the headline: “Share your milk chocolate eggs with someone special…or simply scoff the lot”. They will be on shelves in plenty of time for Easter 2010 and will continue to be available all year round.
The product is an ideal treat for chocolate loving adults and is also great for portion conscious parents. The pocket money price also puts Lovely Mini Eggs in a prime position to capture impulse purchases from children on the way home from school.
The new eggs are the second Easter product to be introduced by the Blackpool-based company in recent years. In 2007 the UK’s largest independent sugar confectionery company launched Princess Marshmallow Eggs a combination of a milk chocolate outer egg with a unique, traditionally-made starch deposited Princess pink marshmallow centre. This truly innovative product has established itself as a real alternative to other chocolate eggs on the market.
Tangerine’s group marketing manager Helen Sears commented: “The new Lovely Mini Eggs are a welcome addition to our market-leading Barratt range. They increase our seasonal offering and present retailers with a greater sales opportunity around Easter, a time of year when chocolate sales are at a peak.”
She added: “Barratt has an extensive range of confectionery on the market for kids of all ages and includes confectionery icons the Sherbet Fountain, Dip Dabs, Flumps, Fruit Salads and Black Jacks. We hope the new eggs will appeal to kids and adults alike who already enjoy Barratt products.”
Barratt Lovely Mini Eggs have already secured listings in Palmer and Harvey and Nisa stores nationwide.
