The Bay Tree Responds to Growing Health Demands

Condiment producer launches three reduced sugar foodservice lines

Renowned West Country producer, The Bay Tree, has introduced three reduced sugar variants of their most popular recipes – Strawberry Jam, Orange Marmalade and the bestselling, Spicy Tomato & Onion Chutney.

Containing at least 25% less sugar than their traditional counterparts, the premium preserves producer has developed the range to promote sugar reduction, a topic being brought increasingly to the public’s attention. Carefully formulated to appeal to customers looking to cut the sweet stuff by opting for simple swaps within their everyday diets, the variants don’t compromise on quality.

The new catering tubs are now available to foodservice operators:

Reduced Sugar Strawberry Jam – 1.2kg trade price £7.00

Made with 69g of fruit per 100g. Strawberry remains the most popular preserve and an essential breakfast and afternoon tea addition.

Reduced Sugar Orange Marmalade – 1.2kg trade price £6.00

Made with 74g of fruit per 100g. Oranges pack a citrus punch – serve at breakfast, pair as a sweet companion to goats’ cheese, or add a burst of flavour to classic puddings.

Reduced Sugar Spicy Tomato & Onion Chutney – 1.2kg trade price £6.00

Made with 67% tomato and 20% onion. This versatile chutney is designed to add a sweet, spicy tang to a range of meat, fish, vegetable or cheese dishes.
