Bidvest 3663’s specialist fresh and fine foods division, Swithenbank, is unveiling its new range of long-life, premium artisan breads.

Arrisan bread

Created for taste, ease and to minimise food waste, the new range includes five different artisan breads that arrive with the caterer frozen ready to be baked in the oven for 15-18 minutes. The caterer can choose whether to keep the product frozen or to let the product defrost and store ambient for up to 10 days.

According to Mintel, over the past five years the popularity of artisan bread has grown substantially. Compared to growth of pre-packed bread (2%), speciality bread has rocketed by 8%. The bread and baked goods market is expected to continue to grow in value by approximately 24% by 2018, to £4.8bn.

The new Bidvest 3663 range includes a Sourdough Country Loaf, a wheat-free 100% Rye Loaf, Rustic Brown Loaf, Crusty White Village Bred and a Mixed Box which comprises of two of each.

The range includes:

Sourdough Country Loaf:

Artisan style round loaf made from aged sour dough, wheat and rye flour. This bread has been baked on the sole of the oven for a traditional crusty finish and is perfect sliced thick for chunky sandwiches or toasted and topped as a bruschetta. Bake off in minutes and serve.

100% Rye Loaf:

Made exclusively with Rye flour this Wheat Free loaf has a nutty, sour flavour. Hand dusted before slow baking gives the bread a cracked crust making it the perfect accompaniment to soups, pates, terrines and smoked salmon. A deliciously moorish bread and an excellent wheat free alternative. Bake off in minutes and serve.

Rustic Brown Loaf:

This large round sharing loaf is hand dusted with flour and stone baked to a golden crusty finish, perfect for cutting into chunky individual portions as part of a bread basket or making long sliced artisan sandwiches. Bake off in minutes and serve.

Crusty White Village Bread

A rustic loaf with a distinctive wholesome flavour, made with Wholemeal Rye Flour, Wheat Flour, Rye Flour and an aged Sourdough base. A great alternative to white bread this works perfectly with soup, salads, pâté or as part of a rustic cheese board. Bake off in minutes and serve.

Mixed Box

A mixed box of artisan, rustic bake-off breads, containing 2 x sourdough country loaf, 2 x 100% rye loaf, 2  x Village bread, and 2 x  rustic brown.
