Cadbury, the UK’s favourite chocolate brand[1], has celebrated 2023 Big Win Win competition winners, Gurdip Jatana, owner of Mepal Post Office & Stores in East Cambridgeshire, and customer Sheila Thompson, with a mural painted onto the side of Gurdip’s store. Sheila was one of the winners of the Cadbury Big Win Win competition in 2023, and nominated Gurdip, her local retailer, seeing the duo each receive a cash prize when they were announced as joint winners. With 2025’s competition still open for entries, the Big Win Win competition celebrates the special relationship between consumers and their local shopkeepers, inviting customers to nominate their favourite shopkeeper to enter the competition.
Set against the backdrop of Mepal, and depicting the two lucky winners of Cadbury’s Big Win Win promotion, the mural conveys the store’s position at the heart of the local community and the important role it plays for those who live there.
Gurdip said: “To be recognised for my work in the Mepal community over the years is a fantastic feeling. We love building relationships with our customers, and it’s great to see that brought to life on the side of our store. The Cadbury Big Win Win is a competition that really brings retailers and shoppers together, and I would encourage every retailer to remind their customers what they could win.”
Now in its third year, this year’s Big Win Win is currently live until July 6th 2025, and retailers are already receiving their share of the £50,000* prize pot. Designed to celebrate local retailers and their customers, the competition exclusively offers both Independent retail and Symbol stores AND their shoppers the chance to win cash prizes* together. There is still time for retailers and their consumers to win prizes, with the competition closing in July.
Across the entire campaign, retailers have a chance of winning an incredible £50,000* worth of prizes alongside their shoppers, with 100 opportunities for retailers to win*! There are 25 x £1000*, 25 x £500* and 50 x £250* cash prizes to be won.
To remind consumers to nominate their store if they win as part of the Big Win Win promotion, Cadbury has created an array of social media assets for retailers to use on their platforms. These can be downloaded from SnackDisplay, Mondelēz International’s trade-facing website.
To celebrate Big Win Win, Cadbury has created several short videos that focus on shopkeepers’ connection to their local communities, telling their stories and charting their histories. The videos feature Dean Holborn of Holborn’s in Redhill and Shashi and Pallu Patel of Meet & Deep News Twickenham. Both videos showcase the retailers’ roles as community hubs in their local areas — each for over 20 years— shining a light on the good they do for the community and encourage consumers to enter the Cadbury Big Win Win competition.
