- All-in-one rice and curry pot solution, Curried Away, joins existing solutions, All Wrapped Up, and Peri Pockets
- Designed with speed of service and cost in mind, it’s a versatile solution which can be rolled out with accompanying POS
Wholesaler and catering provider, Creed Foodservice, has launched a new curry pot solution as part of its Kitchen ’72 all-in-one meal portfolio. The solution includes a new range of bespoke scratch-made curry sauces which as a base are vegan and allergen-free.
Responding to demands from caterers who are looking for cost-effective, speedy meal solutions, Creed has created Curried Away which sees marinated chicken and a range of other proteins, paired with one of four handmade curry sauces, alongside fluffy rice.
Designed to be packed up in one takeaway box, the meal can be served in a canteen setting, from a stand-alone kiosk, or simply as part of your normal menu, giving caterers the opportunity to be completely flexible with the solution.
The solution uses two lines from the Kitchen ’72 product range – the marinated meat and the curry sauces – to create the perfect starting point for caterers, with the 2kg pouch of sauce pairing perfectly with the 2.5kg protein of choice; –
- 4 x 2kg Pouches of Kitchen ’72 Curry Sauce – frozen
- Korma – Mild and velvety sauce with flavours of coconut, cumin and coriander.
- Madras – A medium/hot sauce with Kashmiri chilli, tomato and tamarind.
- Tikka Masala – A mildly spiced sauce with tomato, coconut and paprika.
- Vegetable Jalfrezi – A medium spiced tomato based sauce with sweet potato, red lentils, broccoli and peppers. This sauce can be used alone without additional protein or meat as a plant-based option.
- 2.5kg Diced Marinated Chicken Thigh – chilled
- Tandoori
- Garlic & Herb
Created to mimic a dish you might normally see at a street-food market, the solution comes with a sense of fun and vibrancy that many want to see from a lunch dish. Speedy to serve and personalisable with various proteins, sauces and toppings, it’s a dish that appeals to all.
Curried Away joins All Wrapped Up and Peri Pockets – Kitchen ’72’s existing solutions which feature over eighty protein options and eight fierce world flavours. Red Tractor and RSPCA assured chicken and pork products are available as part of this. With the meat arriving chilled, already marinated and diced, it can be combined with a chef-prepared sauce which simply needs thawing and heating. What’s more, with no nasties added to the allergen-free sauces, they are a healthy and delicious base to work with.
Creed’s Executive Business Development Chef, Rob Owen, comments: “With the meat delivered ready-marinated, diced and portioned, along with chef-prepared sauces and a range of add-ons and toppings, we remove the need for highly skilled chefs in operators’ prep-kitchens, bringing costs down across the board.
“Accompanying POS ties this altogether as a fully-packaged up solution for caterers who are increasingly looking for ways to simplify operations. We’ve designed all the accompanying collateral to have that global food vibe, bringing the street-food experience to caterers who are keen to keep customers on-site with appealing lunch options.”
