Tic Tac is returning to the nation’s TV screens for the first time in over a year, introducing a new £1.65m campaign. Airing through the summer to the end of August, the advert is set to remind shoppers of the gentle refreshment in every pack, at a time when impulse buys are regaining relevance as lockdown restrictions continue to ease.

Levi Boorer, Customer Development Director at Ferrero, comments: “Having been a challenging year for on-the-go and impulse sales, it’s important we put support behind Tic Tac to ensure it is front of mind with shoppers out and about this summer. People are beginning to return to routines of old and we’re dedicated to helping retailers in re-engaging shoppers with brands they know and love, such as Tic Tac. Whether that be through new flavours, formats or campaigns to ensure the brand is top of mind, mints is a key category for impulse purchases, so variety and driving awareness is key in helping to capture attention.”

Leading with the best-selling Tic Tac flavour, Fresh Mint, the advert aims to highlight the joy of taking a break to enjoy the gentle refreshment of Tic Tac, bringing a couple together as they both work from home. The gentle burst of freshness delivered by the product is brought to life by animated characters, who guide the couple around the house in a minty mist, giving the advert a fun and exciting feel. The advert also highlights the quality of each individual Tic Tac, with each being made from 100 layers of flavour to deliver that delicious gentle refreshment.

The campaign is live across TV and video on demand until 30th August. It also coincides with the recent return of Tic Tac Coca-Cola, available in stores now. The limited-edition product will support retailers in capitalising on its success from last year, where it was the second most successful product launch for sugar confectionery in the impulse channel[1].
