The new incentive, aimed to highlight the importance of Picture Portal, will see Unitas Wholesale reward one member each quarter with a donation to a charity of their choice, plus a personal prize for the winning depot’s Optimisation Champion.

Picture Portal is a tool used to capture real time examples of promotional execution and activation across the Unitas Wholesale membership. Members submit images each period via a dedicated point of contact in each depot, known as an Optimisation Champion, and these images are shared with suppliers on a regular basis to demonstrate effective levels of compliance. In return members benefit from enhanced bonus incentives as part of the groups ‘More 4 More’ rewards programme.

November saw the launch of the incentive, with Imran Tariq from the United Wholesale Grocer’s Springburn depot being selected as this quarter’s Optimisation Champion winner. In addition to the £500 donation, Imran has earned himself a £100 Amazon gift card for consistently submitting high quality images that include effective off-shelf displays featuring Unitas Wholesale Mega Deal Plus promotions.

On behalf of Unitas Wholesale Grocers, Unitas Wholesale donated £500 to Royston based youth charity, Royston Youth Action. Royston Youth Action work with children, young people and their families in the North East of Glasgow, supporting over 300 children and young people every year by delivering an array of social, physical and emotional wellbeing clubs and activities. They provide over 20 weekly clubs, ranging from after school clubs to fitness clubs to workshop nights, in addition to boys and girl’s health groups. Established over 30 years ago, Royston Action Youth has a  hugely positive influence within the Royston community and is highly thought of by many other organisations throughout Glasgow.

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, Unitas Wholesale Sales & Marketing Director John Kinney presented the cheque to Tom Slaven of United Wholesale Grocers in a ‘virtual hand-over’, using the Microsoft Teams platform.

John Kinney commented, “ It’s fantastic that we are able to make this charity donation on behalf of our member United Grocers as a reward for the excellent support they have demonstrated in promotional execution in depot, all part of the Unitas More 4 More initiative”.
