Global distributor I Love… has invested over £80,000 developing their IT systems to support the growth of their business.
The Manchester based firm has appointed neighbouring IT solutions experts Technology Services Group (TSG) to implement Microsoft Dynamics NAV across the organisation.
The newly implemented solution will combine two existing systems already being used to capacity into one system perfectly suited for the distributor.
Martin Rylance, Head of Finance for I Love… commented, “As the company has grown we found that our finance and stock control systems were approaching breaking point. So in order to give ourselves the opportunity to continue growing we needed to look at upgrading.”
He is also confident that they will benefit from the appointment of TSG. “It’s clear that TSG have the knowledge and experience needed to address this project having completed similar work for hundreds of customers in this wholesale and distribution sector.
“This new, modernised approach will ensure that our reporting is much better, and communication within the company is centred round the one system. Getting a detailed and instant insight into stock levels and sales forecasts is integral to us especially when it comes to important strategic processes such as our ‘just in time’ approach”.
TSG carried out a detailed assessment of the systems in use and potential alternatives before advising Microsoft Dynamics NAV as the best fit solution.
Kirsty Marsden, Senior Business Development Manager at TSG explained “This will improve efficiencies massively for I Love… giving staff one platform to log on to for the information they need on a daily basis.
“With Microsoft Dynamics NAV they have removed the need to enter data into the two systems which was a time consuming duplication of work already done. This system will streamline business processes, provide real-time management information and most importantly for any distributor, allow I Love… to react to supply and market demand quickly and effectively.”
This new install will also let I Love…. synchronise systems with their warehouse provider DHL allowing for further growth and standardising the company’s operating procedures into one single solution.
Microsoft Dynamics NAV is a feature-rich business management software and integrates seamlessly with the familiar suite of Microsoft Office products. Designed with mobility in mind it is renowned for its accessibility, ease of use, and flexibility, which helps businesses be more productive.
Dave Rawes, ERP and CRM director at Technology Services Group explains how powerful and flexible software such as Microsoft Dynamics NAV is opening up new possibilities for ambitious SMEs, “We’re now in a position to deliver a level of capability and functionality that was previously only affordable to larger enterprises.”
“Third party warehousing integration is a great example of this. The major players use WMS systems that are way beyond the reach of smaller businesses but with an increasing number of online retailers choosing to outsource warehousing and distribution to third party providers, integration between systems is critical.”
“At TSG, our experts have resolved the challenge by building full two way integration tools using XML files to transfer data between Microsoft Dynamics NAV and third part warehousing systems. It ensures that conformity is maintained between systems and eliminates the requirement for manual input of any kind.”
“We work with more than 400 customers in the wholesale and distribution sector and it’s clear that increasing efficiency is a major priority. We’re building a suite of tools that customers can take advantage of without reinventing the wheel. It includes third party warehousing integration, visual warehousing, shop floor data collection, time & attendance, serial & batch tracking with handhelds and many others that are becoming essentials.”
