Dairystix’s return to the market has started well by gaining a national listing with foodservice wholesaler Booker. This listing will see Dairystix whole milk and semi-skimmed UHT single-portions available in 172 outlets nationwide.

Non-branded-tray-1

New owner Guiston announced the Dairystix UHT milk brand comeback in March this year. The company, which is based on the edge of Dartmoor, has promised that all its milk is sourced locally from Devon and Cornwall farms making it the only 100% British farm assured milk portion pack.

“Having a national wholesaler on board is an encouraging start for our relaunch and exactly the right place for the brand to return to the market,” said John Taylerson, a partner at Guiston and who is responsible for relaunching the brand into the market. “While the convenience and longevity of the product makes Dairystix an attractive product for a range of market sectors we believe there is particularly high demand for our product from small hoteliers, B&B owners as well as restaurants and coffee shops. By returning to the market through Booker we can quickly build the brand recognition with the original core customer base while developing other contracts.”

Taylerson believes firmly in producing products using local ingredients and ensuring the process is as environmentally sound as possible. This is one of the reasons the company has chosen to use farm assured local milk and increased the milk volume in each Dairystix without increasing the packaging. He has also designed a case of Dairystix to hold more portions so that the company is creating less packaging waste to landfill.

To put this in context 7 pallets of Dairystix hold more portions than 16 pallets of jiggers which means we have a much reduced impact on the environment not just in minimising packaging but in the number of lorries we need on the road to deliver our product. Thanks to the sophisticated way we pasteurise the milk, we can achieve a great taste with long-life ambient distribution.”
