Blakemore Foodservice has launched a brand new click & collect service at its Darlaston distribution centre to serve people in the West Midlands.

The service, which began on 15th April, aims to provide members of the public with a safe and easy way to buy food in family-size quantities during the coronavirus pandemic.

Customers can choose from circa 200 product lines, including store cupboard essentials, chilled and frozen food, and fresh meat and produce boxes.

A dedicated website has been set up for product browsing and order placement. Orders placed before 3pm will be ready for next-day collection from Monday to Saturday.

Head of Blakemore Foodservice Caoire Blakemore commented: “At this difficult time, many people are facing challenges buying essential groceries.

“Our next-day click & collect service provides a quick and easy alternative to supermarket queues and waiting weeks for online deliveries. Customers don’t even have to leave their cars – we’ll load their goods for them.”

On placing their orders online, customers are offered one-hour time slots convenient to them. Their orders will be ready and waiting on their arrival at the depot.

Upon collection, customers simply have to confirm their order number, pull into a loading bay and stay in their car while Blakemore Foodservice helpers load their boot.

To ensure colleague and customer safety, social distancing measures have been put into place. If customers wish to check their orders, they can do this at dedicated check-off points.

The minimum order requirement is £50. Collection slots are available Monday to Friday from 8am to 7pm, and on Saturday from 8am to 12pm.
