The wallpaper manufacturer, based in Lancashire was founded in the 1940’s. They are based in a factory in an industrial area of the town and use large printing machines to create patterned wallpapers which are then supplied around the UK, Europe and North America. The factory is still on the original site and over recent years has transformed production into a 200,000²/ft production & office facility.

Camfil Engineers visited the site to discuss traditional air filter supply to the building and to look at finding a solution to improve indoor air quality within the manufacturing facility. Visible airborne particles were present at high level, this being a by-product of the printing machines and general manufacturing process. High temperatures and particle counts were confirmed in the building rafters and eaves. Extraction to atmosphere was not an option.

Camfil recommended using six of their CamCleaner 6000 units suspended in the ceiling space above the printing machines, taking the pollution out at source. The British manufacturing organisation was looking for a solution that could effectively prevent the accumulation of pollution in a controlled manner whilst using very little energy. Camfil was able to provide the appropriate solution to meet this requirement – the CamCleaner 6000 air purifier.

The mobile and stationary version of the CamCleaner 6000 is the ideal solution for effective filtration and purification of air in large interior spaces and industrial plants making it ideal in a factory environment. CamCleaners use HEPA filters for more efficient filtration, reducing the number of required air changes and using safe and environmentally friendly technology. CamCleaner units come with a high-quality finish, are recognised for trouble-free operation, and provide high air quality at low energy cost. The air circulation generated by the CamCleaner creates a uniform temperature distribution throughout the premises, even in rooms with high ceilings.

Bill Wilkinson, Managing Director, Camfil UK said: “The Camfil CamCleaner 6000s enable dust-free warehousing and manufacturing and improves the working conditions for our customers’ employees. The installation of these air purifiers also means that our customers can offer their customers cleaner finished products with less waste and less cleaning effort needed inside the building. This highly efficient filtration solution requires fewer air changes, which also decreases repair and maintenance costs. The CamCleaner systems operate with the highest possible energy efficiency and cost effectiveness. With the CamCleaner 6000s, it is possible to have all aspects of particulate exposure under control”.

CamCleaner is a range of patented air purifiers with the most efficient HEPA filters on the market. They are designed to work as a supplement to an existing ventilation system and give reduced energy costs, more efficient production and a healthier work environment with less dust and fewer harmful particles. Poor air quality affects both the health of the personnel and their performance. Bacteria, dust, viruses and harmful particles in the air may cause itchy eyes, headaches and a blocked nose.

Furthermore, it can also give rise to asthma and irritation of the respiratory tract. CamCleaner purifies the air and effectively combats these problems. This leads to improved work performance, reduced absence due to illness, and air that feel easy to breathe. The CamCleaner 6000 is suitable for dusty environments and large indoor premises such pharmaceutical facilities, food factories, heavy industry, paper mills, welding workshops, timber facilities, bakeries, packaging production, printing facilities, stables, processing industry, supermarkets and other specialist applications such as upgrading of clean room environments and other classified assembly environments.
