DIFFERENTIATOR Brands has appointed Paul Doran as UK business development manager to drive growth of its recently acquired Eldorado Tonic Wine brand.

Mr Doran, a former sales manager with Halewood Artisanal Spirits who has previously worked with Eldorado, joins Differentiator Brands this month to drive sales and marketing of the long-established brand.

Differentiator Brands acquired the Eldorado brand last month as part of its purchase of KB Agencies. Chris Miller, the company’s chief commercial officer, said: “As the new owner of Eldorado Tonic Wine we are delighted to recruit Paul Doran as we drive sales and marketing of the brand across the UK.

“Paul is a highly respected operator in the wholesale and convenience channel with longstanding relationships with our key strategic partners. He will implement innovative marketing initiatives to drive growth of the tonic wine category, extend Eldorado’s geographical distribution, and generate sales across the wholesale and retail channels.”

Eldorado, a full-bodied Tonic Wine, is particularly well known in Scotland where it has a loyal consumer following. “With Paul on board we plan to accelerate visibility of Eldorado as a brand in the Scottish market in order to grow the category but also expand its reach south of the Border, targeting cities such as Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham,” Mr Miller added.

“We will step up support for Eldorado across the UK in both the convenience retail sector and in the wholesale channel as we raise awareness of the brand and grow this category of the alcoholic drinks market.”

Describing his new role, Mr Doran said: “This is a fantastic opportunity and I’m delighted to be joining Differentiator Brands to work on a brand which has such huge growth potential in both existing and new markets. Currently, Eldorado is still a very west coast-centric brand and I look forward to expanding its appeal UK-wide.”
