My Food Shop is launching its brand-new online grocery delivery platform to support suppliers and the wider food service industry, by enabling customers to order groceries and produce that would otherwise be supplying the Capital’s leading restaurants.
The platform works with various suppliers to provide an extensive range of specialist, restaurant-standard produce at supermarket prices, focusing on freshness and quality. Its target is to work with as many suppliers and producers as possible, supporting the hard hit sector ahead of any further easing of the current lockdown situation and preventing this produce going to waste.
Current produce includes fruit and vegetables grown in Kent; artisan baked goods; premium cuts of meat from ‘The Butcher’s Block’ that are typically unavailable in supermarkets, all supplied by James George, co-founder of premium butcher’s Turner & George; a range of quality wines selected by leading sommeliers; locally brewed craft beers; and popular spirits.
Customers can also access products from a range of independent London retailers, including Caravan Coffee, Mother Clucker and Black Lemon. The service offers everyday essentials as well, such as bread, eggs and milk from well known grocery brands, with minimal plastic packaging, ensuring customers can order everything they want and need from one place and in one transaction.
Nigel Draper, Founder of My Food Shop, says: “There has been a surge in demand for a quality grocery delivery service, offering the full range of food and drink, since lockdown began. This has been brought on by changing consumer habits and the fact that larger retailers have been stretched to accommodate the rise in demand. We wanted to launch a service that brought together a wide range of local and quality products across all categories, and a service that feels very much like a traditional greengrocer or butcher but brought to your door.
“We are working with some of London’s best known producers and retailers, to expand our product offering and develop what we hope will be a business that can be sustained beyond lockdown. In the meantime, we are dedicated to supporting as many people as possible and helping them get home deliveries of fresh food and drink they value so much.”
The service is currently available to customers in London and the South East, but there are plans in place to expand into other cities across the UK in the coming weeks. Shoppers must spend a minimum of £50, with delivery costs set at £4.50 and free for orders of £100 or more.
My Food Shop is currently running a Buy One Get One Free offer across it’s Caravan Coffee range, while stocks last, for all new customers.
