Ginsters takes a bigger bite of UK snacking market

Ginsters of Cornwall, is taking another bite out of the UK’s growing snack market with an expanded Bitesize range – available in four different sizes.

Growing its snacking portfolio from scotch eggs, mini pork pies and cocktail sausages, Ginsters has launched bitesize versions of its much-loved savoury pastry products: the Cornish pasty (4-pack, 8-pack) and sausage roll (5-pack, 10-pack).  The bitesize versions are great to snack on straight from the fridge or keep you going in-between meals.

The larger (8 Cornish Pasties and 10 Sausage Rolls) packs are available in Morrisons nationwide, the smaller Bitesize range (4 Cornish Pasties and 5 Sausage Rolls) provides an on the go snack when out and about in impulse outlets nationwide.

The larger cartons are a staple fridge-filler, designed to tap into the consumer demand for snacking and sharing at home. The cartons close easily to form a snack that can be stored for another snacking occasion – a big motivator for consumers when at home. The smaller cartons allow convenience retailers to increase their on-the-go offering. Both sizes meet the growing demand for properly filled, full of flavour snacks.

Made from 100% British pork with Ginsters’ distinctive flavour, Ginsters Bitesize Sausage Rolls are generously filled and available in five-packs (RRP £1.99, 200g) and ten-packs (RRP £3.00, 400g).

Ginsters Bitesize Cornish Pasties are packed full with 100% British farmed beef, wrapped in light puff pastry with Ginsters’ trademark peppery kick. They are available in four-packs (RRP £1.99, 160g) and eight-packs (RRP £3.00, 320g).

Speaking about the launch, Ginsters’ Managing Director Kieran Hemsworth comments, “Our Cornish pasties and sausage rolls have always been hugely popular with our loyalists, but as category disruptors, we know the younger demographic can spur growth within the savoury pastry category as a whole. Ginsters, which has been baking in Cornwall since 1967, now produces over three million savoury pastries a week. Building on its success as one of the top 100 food brands in the FMCG index, Ginsters hit its highest ever share of the savoury pastry market at 12% in April this year.
