Don Q rum announces the UK launch of two unique aged expressions, La Reserva de la Familia Serrallés and the 2005 Signature Release Single Barrel. These exclusive rums are a celebration of the brand’s 150th anniversary and six generations of rum-making history, collectively creating Puerto Rico’s number one premium rum.
Released earlier this year, the Signature Release Single Barrel 2005 (ABV 40%) rum is the first singlebarrel expression ever to be released by Don Q and is part of a limited edition series, with only 6,000 bottles produced. The vintage rum which was laid to age in American white oak barrels in 2005 for 10 years and bottled in 2015, is described as offering rich and buttery notes that warm the palate. Every bespoke bottle has been specifically designed to showcase the rich amber colours of the rare liquid and includes an engraved signature from the Master Distiller, reflecting the quality of the rum.
The Reserva de la Familia Serrallés (ABV 40%), Don Q’s most elite rum to date, launched last year and is now available in the UK. The celestial elixir has been hand-selected by sixthgeneration distiller, Roberto Serrallés, and is a blend of 20-year-old rums from its oldest barrels. In keeping with the company’s birthdate, only 1,865 bottles have been produced and are available with the impressive RRP price tag of £1,865. The rare and collectible expression exudes luxury, with delicious smoothness on the palate and the elegance and complexity of a venerable cognac.
