Swan rolls into pole position with massive new motor sport deal

Swan-1Swan, manufacturers of rolling papers and the UK’s number one best selling filters, has just announced a huge new motor sport deal for 2010.

Not only has the company renewed as an official sponsor of the 2010 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championships it has become the new title sponsor of the SwanHonda Superbike team.

The deal also includes title sponsorship of the Swan Combi Challenge for F2 sidecars that consists of five exciting live TV events at BSB meetings across the series.

Swan have sponsored the BSB Championships for the past two years and seen excellent results in terms of KPI’s for the business. However the new deal on top of the Swan Honda sponsorship will see a greatly enhanced profile for the renowned roll-your-own maker.

Said marketing manager Mark Alldred: “We are very excited to be involved with BSB again this year and thrilled to be the title sponsor of the Swan Honda team. BSB is one of the most prestigious motorbike racing series in the world and a perfect platform to reach our core consumer.

“More than 5.2M viewers tune in to watch the BSB Championships and 350,000 spectators attend across the 12 rounds meaning it is also an amazing opportunity to communicate and sample to consumers.

“In addition Swan Honda has a great chance of competing for the 2010 series as our new riders – James Ellison and Stuart Easton – came second and third respectively in last year’s competition.”

The Swan Honda deal will see majority Swan branding on bikes, riders leathers, trailers & support vehicles, pit garage and crew clothing not to mention the thousands of pieces of merchandise featuring the team colours that will be sold.

The BSB Championship package features a greatly increased presence for Swan across the 12 date series with increased trackside signage in TV view, full online coverage and product sampling to over 350K spectators.

Swan will also be able to utilize the relationship for promotional use, competitions, rider appearances, presence at trade shows, hospitality and a host of PR applications meaning the overall impact will be huge.

The company is also continuing the extremely popular ‘Swan Combi – Roll for Pole’. Taking place the day before the main race the nail-biting ‘Swan Combi – Roll for Pole’ sees riders go head to head against the clock with the fastest taking the coveted pole position on the grid for the main race.

Added Alldred: “Through the increased exposure that the unique Swan Combi paper and filter pack has received through BSB we have seen excellent demand through all channels, a trend we are convinced is going to continue going forward. We believe Swan Combi is a must-stock for all retailers.”

In addition to the BSB & Swan Honda sponsorships Swan has committed to a heavyweight advertising, promotion and PR campaign across the year.
