kff, a leading independent foodservice wholesaler, has developed and launched a range of vegan products in response to consumer feedback driven by current market trends. The range includes a host of meat and dairy-free dishes all suitable for those looking to follow a more sustainable, plant-based diet.

Operators can choose from an assortment of menu items such as starters, mains, cakes, desserts, dairy alternatives, sauces and snacking options to name a few! The extensive collection is made up of products which are high in nutritional value and it even has a few indulgent options – a rich, salted caramel brownie and a creamy cashew nut paella. Flavours include Italian classics, Indian and Punjab spices and the classic British roast dinner.

The new range also features a few hero products:

  • Jackfruit – this versatile fruit mimics meat in both appearance and texture, however, is rich in protein, potassium, calcium and iron – great to top a meat-free burger, hotdog or nachos.
  • Moving Mountains plant-based burger – this burger includes mushrooms, wheat and soy proteins making it an excellent choice for the health-conscious consumer.
  • Quorn fishless fish fingers – made from the well-known Quorn protein, the fishless fingers look like the real thing and are suitable for young consumers.

Chris Beckley, Managing Director, kff commented: “Vegan and plant-based diets were increasingly in demand throughout 2018 and into 2019. We’ve listened to our customers’ feedback and have worked tirelessly to create this truly extensive, new vegan range which we hope will hold real mass appeal. A third of Britons reduced their consumption of or stopped eating meat in 20181 and this growing demand was one we simply couldn’t ignore. We hope this new range will provide chefs and caterers with something new and exciting to offer their customers. The range will be a great alternative for those looking to make the switch – even providing sceptics with some pleasant surprises.”

Full details of the new Vegan range are available on kff’s new-look website. Recipes, industry updates and the new Chefs’ Think Tank are also available to discerning caterers and operators looking for the latest insight and industry news to help drive success at their sites.
