Available for retailers and wholesalers throughout the UK from October, alongside the annual International Breast Cancer Awareness month, more than one million bananas will look pretty in pink, with the signature pink ribbon added to the brand’s iconic Miss Chiquita logo. This is the second year running that Chiquita will be adding a splash of colour to UK consumers’ fruit bowls in a bid to raise awareness of the disease, which affects millions of people worldwide every year.
The blue stickers on the Chiquita banana are a globally recognised symbol, representing high quality fruit and organic produce, illustrating the brand’s worldwide presence. Chiquita was the first company to brand a banana, adding the well-known image of Miss Chiquita in 1944 and officially adding the Chiquita sticker in 1963.
