• Boost Drinks adds Mocha SKU to its fastest growing RTD coffee range
  • The new SKU offers retailers a great-quality product with excellent cash margins
  • The 250ml £1 PMP cans will be available in wholesalers from 28th March 2022

Boost Drinks is expanding its popular range of ready-to-drink coffee products with a new Mocha flavour launching this Spring, available in wholesale from 28th March.

Developed with a delicious blend of indulgent chocolate, South American coffee beans and superior milk content recipe, the Mocha flavour uses exclusive production techniques to guarantee a silky taste and a quality product. The new flavour offers extended shelf life for retailers compared to other brands, and the £1 PMP format provides strong cash margins for retailers.

The Mocha SKU joins the popular Caffe Latte, Double Espresso and Caramel Latte SKUs offered by Boost, which makes up for 75% of category sales within the independent iced coffee market[1].

The new flavour comes as Boost coffee range continues to perform ahead of the category, with Boost now the #1 fastest growing RTD iced coffee brand in unit sales. Research shows that 75% of the sales value within the RTD Iced Coffee market is made up of 4 flavours – Latte, Caramel, Espresso & Mocha[2]. The addition of Mocha completes the set of popular flavours for Boost with the flavour being the 4th largest flavour segment in the iced coffee category, with a large 11% market share[3].

The iced drinks market is already worth £194m[4] and growing at +30% volume and +31% value YOY[5] – making it the current fastest growing category within Soft Drinks. It is easy to see why the sub-category is an incremental growth opportunity for wholesalers and retailers alike.

Adrian Hipkiss, Marketing and International Business Director at Boost Drinks at Boost, said: “Last year we marked our 20th year in the business, so seeing us fulfil our commitment to selling exceptional value products with no compromise on quality – such as our new Mocha iced coffee – is extremely rewarding.

“Investing in new flavour development is key to staying ahead of the curve and ensure we’re continue to offer high-quality functional drinks – which we’re confident this new Mocha flavour will offer.”

To support the Mocha launch, Boost is activating a multi-channel marketing communications campaign across both trade and consumer formats, including digital and OOH. Plans include a number of trade sampling events taking place across UK depots with eye-catching POS available to wholesalers, alongside an exclusive distribution drive throughout April.

With consumers also be able to get their hands on the new flavour via city centre sampling in London and Northern Ireland. Likewise, to generate excitement around the launch across Boost social channels, the team will be giving some lucky consumers the chance to be the first to try the new flavor.

OOH and digital advertising will also take place throughout May consisting of advertising on Hi-Street Media screens in 40 retailers across London to ensure Boost Mocha is front of mind to encourage impulse purchase.

The new Mocha will be available in wholesale in 12 x 250ml cases.
