The countdown to Christmas is officially under way after the festive favourite GroceryAid Carol Concert took place on Wednesday 12 December. At a time of year known for giving back, the evening provided colleagues a chance to reflect and support those less fortunate with £60k raised for grocery colleagues in need. This sum is enough to fund 800 winter fuel payments made to beneficiaries this December.
Guests were entertained by a mesmerising professional choir and readings from industry leaders; Sally Abbott (Managing Director, Weetabix), Judith Batchelar (Director of Sainsbury’s Brand, Sainsbury’s), Jane Lawrie, (Group Communications Director, Tesco), Carol Robert (COO, Lucozade Ribena Suntory) and Ross Warnes (Sales Director UK, The Kraft Heinz Company).
Sally Abbott, Managing Director at Weetabix commented; “As ever, the GroceryAid Carol Concert was a beautiful event, such a peaceful, warm-spirited and connected evening for an industry that can be so demanding. It’s great to know that our efforts are helping others in need, particularly at this special time of the year.”
Following the Carol Concert, a champagne and canapé reception was held at the nearby Chelsea Gardener for guests to network, catching up with industry colleagues both old and new.
Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year from all at GroceryAid!
