Sugro UK – the member-owned buying and marketing group has undertaken the challenging task of successfully hosting their first convention of 2021 overseas; with 70 guests in attendance, Sugro also managed to completely offset their carbon emissions for the trip by planting a tree for each guest in attendance.

Partnering with PG Events to host the convention, Sugro were delighted to host Members and Suppliers for the first convention abroad in over two years, which was a much needed networking trip where the challenges of the past two years could be discussed, along with the exciting opportunities for 2022.

Neil Turton, Managing Director of Sugro commented “A few months ago it looked a brave decision to run the convention trip to Dubai; it was achieved with very high standards of covid-safety and brought the Sugro ‘family’ together”.

Making this bold decision to host the event in Dubai was overwhelming viewed as the correct one, as feedback from both Members and Suppliers was exemplary and really highlighted how important it is to maintain a face-to-face connection, with Erdal from Cyprofood stating “ Thank you to everyone who contributed to this amazing trip. By getting to know the entire Sugro family on this trip, we have seen once again that we as Cyprofood have made the right decision by being a Sugro Member.”

Andy Needham from Morris and Son gauged the mood of the trip perfectly, “This trip has summed up what Sugro is all about; relationships built, memories made, fun and graft combining to make all our businesses stronger in the long run. Thanks to everyone who has made these last few days so enjoyable and to the team at Sugro and PG Events for staging a superb comeback event”.

The group looks forward to many more successful events, both at home and abroad over the coming years.
