Somerset-based Queenswood Natural Foods has achieved the highest grade AA certification from the British Retail Consortium for its head office and organic-certified distribution depot

The family-run wholesaler is part of Hunt’s Group, which is a member of Caterforce, achieved the top-level accreditation in January. The AA grade guarantees confidence that the wholesaler has met all the legal and safety requirements for its storage and distribution of products, and reflects the diligence and commitment it has taken to ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and continuous improvement.

“We are humbled to receive this acknowledgement of our standard of practice,” said Nicki Stribley, Sales Director, Queenswood Natural Foods. “It is a real demonstration of the commitment of our employees, despite the challenges we have all faced throughout 2020 and dealing with a global pandemic. This also wouldn’t have been possible without the continued support of our loyal customers, so a big thank you to them for their ongoing support.”

The BRC Global Standard for Food Safety was created to ensure supplier compliance and to secure retailers’ ability to guarantee the quality and safety of the food products they sell. The accreditation is internationally recognised across the industry and is one of the Global Food Safety Initiative’s most recognised certification schemes. Businesses are audited and inspected to ensure they follow set procedures using an effective food safety management system.
