A huge thank you to our Members and Suppliers for attending the Sugro 2023 Business Convention in Chile. As always, it was a fantastic opportunity to network, build relationships and do business in the unique settings of vibrant Santiago and the Atacama desert – the driest desert in the world where the Group not only had some fantastic opportunities to network whilst enjoying the stargazing experience but also witnessed some snow too and this, as you can imagine, does not happen very often in that part of the world!

As always, a substantial incremental volume has been delivered by the incentive for the benefit of the Group and our Supply Partners with over 9.8 million cases being purchased incrementally across a 3-month period.

The convention provided an opportunity for its 70 attendees to hold both formal and informal business sessions throughout the duration.

In addition to attending the convention, Sugro UK has also undertaken a major charitable project with the Fundación Abrázam Charity in Chile. Fundación Abrázam Charity manages a team of 250 specialised and committed volunteers who do an incredible job in offering support to children in vulnerable situations. They work closely with the children to provide emotional, educational, social, and financial support. The Fundación Abrázam Charity has managed to change the lives of thousands of children by helping them to transform their stories of pain into stories of hope and resilience – life full of hope and opportunities.

Along with Supply Partners – Red Bull, Suntory Beverages, and AG Barr, Sugro have made a donation to the Foundation, to support a children’s home for boys.  The donation will support the creation of a garden and children’s play area, which is currently waste land.

Sugro UK Managing Director, Emma Senior said:” Visiting the home and meeting the volunteers and boys, aged between 6 and 12, was such a humbling experience for myself and the small group honoured to visit.  We were welcomed with open arms, and it was such an honour to see so many smiling faces, appreciative of the difference we would make to their young lives.  I very much look forward to seeing the garden come together and I am in no doubt that the boys will love spending time there, in years to come.”

Head of Commercial and Marketing, Yulia Petitt added: “Sugro Family has had 17 consecutive years of growth and continues with its strong performance in 2023 with the year-to-date growth of +9% on the same period in 2022. With some excellent business opportunities being discussed between Members and Suppliers during the convention trip, there is no doubt that the Group will continue with its remarkable performance going forward.”

The Group will continue working with local communities in the UK and abroad by raising funds and supporting future projects.
