NBC held the third AGM of its short but successful journey recently and was able to share its results and provide a trading update to its members and shareholders.

Chairman Jason Langmead commented: “It was great to have members at our premises in Chipping Norton and on Teams, we really do appreciate how busy our members are with running their businesses so getting the time with them was invaluable. It is also the first time that we have had past (Stuart), present (myself) and future Chairman (David @ JL Brooks and Jamie @ Mr Crisp) in the same room at the same time for an AGM! I have really enjoyed my time in role and seeing the pace of the development of the group has been a thing to behold.”

Managing Director David Lunt added: “I am pleased to report another period of significant growth and development for the group. All of our key performance indicators are in the right direction – membership, revenues, and contributions from trading. We have over 50 members representing over £750m in revenues. For this we are thankful for the support and cooperation of our supplier partners, without whom we would not have been as successful as we have been along our journey. The key has been collaboration – ultimately, we want brands to be available at the point of sale or purchase in the channels we supply – and whilst we have made significant progress there is still a great deal more to go for.

“It has become clear to us that providing access to brands, stock and fair prices for our members has to be the focus for the coming months. We will continue to grow our membership where the benefits are mutual and built around trust and work closer in collaboration with supplier partners to make this happen. Our central warehousing and logistics facility – NDN – will help to facilitate this and we truly believe that this is a benefit to both members and suppliers. We also need to help members support brands through their own businesses and we are launching a Web-2-Print service for members to do just that. And this will be a free service available to members – providing them with a very valuable business tool and immediate savings that can be re-directed to other activities.

2022 continues to be a period of growth with some real challenges of running costs, inflation and availability of certain categories that the whole sector needs to deal with. The immediate challenges that everyone faces will need to be dealt with carefully and in a timely manner; easier said than done I appreciate that!”

Jason Langmead added: “It has been a privilege and a pleasure to lead the group for two years and I know that we are in good shape and that the appointment of David and Jamie will add real strength to the group – they do not need it but I will say good luck any way!”
